Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of the A&L Simi Valley Insulation Services website and any estimate, booking or job you arrange with us. By using the site, asking for an estimate or letting our crew start work, you agree to them.
If a written estimate or contract we give you for a specific job says something different from this page, the written estimate or contract controls for that job. If you don't agree with these terms, please don't use the site or book work with us.
What we do
A&L Simi Valley Insulation Services is an insulation contractor in Simi Valley, CA, working for homeowners and businesses in Simi Valley and the cities around it. Our work includes attic insulation, blown-in insulation, which is loose fill blown through a hose, spray foam, insulation removal, air sealing, crawl space insulation and vapor barriers.
The services, materials and areas described on our home page and service pages are general information. What we'll actually do at your house is what's written in your estimate, because every attic and crawl space is different once we're in it. You can read more about who we are on our about page.
Estimates and pricing
We give free estimates at your property, with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and reach on the visit, so it reflects the size of the space, how easy it is to get into, what's already up there and the material you choose.
Sometimes we find things we couldn't see during the estimate, like old insulation that's soaked or full of droppings, hidden damage or gaps that need sealing before new material goes in. When that happens, we stop, explain what we found and what it changes, and we don't do the extra work or charge for it until you approve it.
Prices on an estimate can change if you wait a long time to book, because material costs move. Your estimate will tell you how long its price holds if that matters for your job.
Scheduling and cancellation
We'll agree on a start date with you and tell you about how long the crew expects to be at your house. Dates can shift because of weather, material delivery, illness or a job ahead of yours running long, and if that happens we'll call you as early as we can to set a new time.
Some jobs, spray foam in particular, mean you, your kids and your pets need to be out of the house for a while. We'll tell you the re-entry time, which is when it's safe to come back inside, before the job starts, and you agree to follow it.
If you need to cancel or move your appointment, call us at (805) 261-5026 as soon as you know. If we've already ordered special material for your job or your written estimate sets a cancellation charge, that charge applies.
Your part of the job
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work area, which usually means a clear path to the attic hatch, crawl space or walls, and to keep pets and kids away from it while we work. If we can't get in or the area isn't safe on the scheduled day, we may have to reschedule.
Please tell us before we start about anything we should know, such as known leaks, past pest problems, wiring concerns or work done by others. That information changes how we plan the job.
Payment
Payment is due as stated on your written estimate or invoice. If your estimate doesn't say otherwise, payment is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause any remaining work until the account is current. Any extra work you approve during the job is added to your final invoice at the price we agreed on.
Warranties and guarantees
We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. The only warranty or guarantee that applies to your job is the one written on your estimate, contract or invoice, along with any warranty the material's maker gives directly to you.
Apart from those written terms, and to the extent the law allows, we don't make any other promises, express or implied, about the results of the work. We can't promise a specific drop in your power bill or a specific temperature in a room, because those depend on things outside our work, like your windows, your heating and cooling system, your ductwork and how the house is used.
Information on this website is general and offered as is. It isn't advice for your specific house until we've seen it.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, A&L Simi Valley Insulation Services isn't responsible for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, such as lost use of a room, higher energy costs or delays to other projects. Our total responsibility for any claim connected to a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job.
We aren't responsible for problems caused by conditions that existed before we arrived and that we couldn't reasonably see, by work done by others or by changes made to our work after we finished. Nothing on this page limits any right you have that California law says can't be limited.
If something goes wrong
If you're unhappy with any part of the work, call us first at (805) 261-5026 or reach us through our contact page. Most problems get sorted out fastest when we come back out, look at it together and agree on a fix.
If we can't settle it that way, either of us can take the matter to small claims court or another court with authority in Ventura County, California, where we're based.
Governing law
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to rules that would apply another state's law.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one in effect. Changes don't affect a job already covered by a signed estimate or contract, unless you and we agree to it in writing.
